This is a large absorbent cloth that works well to finish off your car-washing job. It is inexpensive and an excellent value for the money; but don't let the name "chamois" fool you; it only means that its primary purpose is to dry off a car.
A genuine leather chamois is so far superior, however, that I can only give this cloth substitute three stars, especially in view of the fact that it misappropriates the name of the item it can only begin to imitate. Be prepared to pay a lot more for the real thing, and be sure to look for the words "genuine leather." For those of you who are new to true chamoises, I caution that they can be an acquired taste, what with their oily, organic feel, but well worth the effort to overcome any initially icky impression. Soon you will not only appreciate the extraordinary absorbence and non-streaky results of a true chamois, but also begin to revel in the luxury of its touch.
