Lane's Car Products New Aluminum Wheel Cleaner - 32 oz Review

After trying many different brands of aluminum wheel cleaners on my truck's 8 year old aluminum (Progressive) mag wheels - which never really brought back the original luster even with LOTS of elbow graese - I tried Lane's 'New Aluminum'. WOW ! I sprayed a little on - full stregnth - and wiped down the wheel with an wet old terry cloth towel. In less than 2 minutes the acid cleaner literally disolved all the dirt and tarnish, and left the wheel as bright and shiny as when it was new. I'm amazed - and well staisfied. So much so I ordered another 32 oz. bottle as a spare. Thank you, Lane's.

IceDozer Classic Ergonomic Ice Scraper Review

This is a great product. My wife and I purchased this item for a trip north, and west. Even though we hardly used the "dozer", it was worth having our "yellow mellow" in the trunk.



The "IceDozer" clears the windshield perfectly before defrost. Not too heavy and conversely not too light.We would recommend this modern day scraper to anyone contemplating the great outdoors in February,somewhere near Canada or even north of the border. Happy traveling...next winter?
The IceDozer gets points for the ergonomic grip - it fits nicely in your hand and has a place for your other hand to grip in order to add extra pressure on the scraping end. It has nice weight to it and feels like it's really going to do something. And on thick ice, I think it probably works very well (I haven't had to test that theory yet). I also like that it's made in the United States.



Where it loses points is in its ability to scrape very thin ice or frost. It's worthless on frost - even heavy frost. It claims to have a 7" wide flat scraper that easily plows a wide, clear swath of windshield at a time. No, sadly, it does not do this. I tried every angle. It has lots of teeth that make lots of thin scrapes all over your windshield, but then you need to go back over it with your other flat scraper (the cheap one you got at the grocery story for $1.95). It would help if the scraping blade were metal or at least flexible, sharp plastic. The blade that's supposed to scrape a wide patch is dull and inflexible, so it doesn't conform to the slight curve that every windshield has. At best, it would cut a 2" wide swatch occasionally and with no predictability. This one is going in the trunk for the next severe ice storm. Other than that, it doesn't serve my needs.

CCS Red 6.5 inch Ultrasoft Wax/Sealant Foam Pad Review

I have been using this pad for about 2 months and really love it. It's for a detail shop and is really holding up to the constant use. I would recommend cleaning it frequently and keeping it clean before use. Besides that there isnt much to say.



In order to clean it I soaked it in a 5 gallon pale with soap for about 6 hours. Then I will wring it out a few times and then rinse with clean water. I think there is a grate you can use also but I find it pretty simple to do this way and you dont have to buy anything else.

IceDozer Plus Ergonomic Ice Scraper Review

I haven't been able to peel ice with this guy. I experience mostly heavy frost and this took care of that pretty well until it dulled down (which was fairly quick). I tried breaking up ice as they show in pictures and videos, but nothing worked. The design also makes it impractical to clean the front windshield because it REQUIRES 2 hands to keep good pressure and to stabilize it.
The Icedozer works pretty well on flat windshields, for example my Jeep. It's performance isn't as impressive on curved windshields, it only scrapes off thin slivers of ice due to the flatness of the blade.



We only got to try it twice this past winter on two different vehicles and two different conditions. The first time it performed admirably since the ice build up was thin. The "smashing" motion worked to create a break point and while "dozing" the ice crumbled and came off in sections easily.



However, with the thicker ice (~3-4 mm) the smashing motion did not seem to do much and while scraping/dozing, especially on a curved windshield, the scraper did not perform any better then a standard ice scraper.

Meguiar's G7101 Gold Class Wash Shampoo & Cond, 1 Gallon Review

I have used this product for at least 7 years now and am still thrilled with its performance. You have to use a large quantitiy of the product to get great suds, but once you do, you will never use another car wash formula.
This stuff works fantastic on my cars, and it doesn't strip off any of your wax like Zip Wax by Turtle Wax.

Meguiar's G1001 Smooth Surface Clay Bar Review

This product is excellent for removing those little paint imperfections. It is easy to use and does not scratch the paint surface.

Meguiar's typically makes good products at a good price, so if you are a fan, go ahead and give it a try. I find most car care "aficionados" just have to try different products to see what works best for them.



I have used two of these meguiar's clay bars, and they are just so-so. The packaging is very nice and I like that the clay comes in small packages instead of one big lump like most manufacturers.



To compare, I have used the turtle way ice clay bar kit and the mother's clay bar kit. I usually save the detailer spray that comes with the kits, and just use soapy water in a spray bottle for the clay lubricant. I actually like the turtle wax clay the best of the three, but it is packaged with a lame "liquid clay" cleaner. I think the mother's clay is also nicer than the meguiar's. The meguiar's clay, seemed like a milder clay than the others I have tried.



I have also heard good things about clay magic. I think I will try that next and hopefully remember to add it to my review.

Mr. Clean AutoDry Car Wash 10-Uses Refill Filter (10 Pack) Review

Filters do an excellent job of removing mineral deposits in your car wash water, when used with the Auto Dry Car Wash Gun by Mr. Clean.
The advertising for the Mr. Clean Auto Wash System missed its mark. While it is great for washing my car, its best use is in washing the house windows. In less than one hour the outside windows are clean and spotless--streak free, due to the soft water rinse cartridge. Hopefully I now have enough to last the rest of my life!

RainX BCAF21112 Anti-Fog 3.5oz. Review

I bought this product to put on the shield of my motorcycle helmet so it wouldnt fog up.I wiped in on and "tried" buffing it off but it just smeared and left a bad haze.I buffed at it for another 10 minutes and put some elbow grease into it.Finally the haze was gone.I put the helmet on and as soon as i put the helmet on,the first breath i took fogged up the shield.I took the helmet off and put another coat of the anti fog on the shield.Once again i had to really buff it out since it mostly just smeared.I put the helmet on again and once again the shield just fogged up with my first breath.



Conclusion--this stuff does NOT work on motorcycle helmet shields.This product might work on glass but thats not why i bought it.The product doesnt say anything about applying this stuff to helmet shields but then again it didnt say not too either.I went out and bought a product called Fog Off which works very well on helmets.I am starting to wonder if the Rain-x anti fog is just some rubbing alcohol in a bottle because thats sure what it smells like.So if your looking at this product for your helmet shield,steer clear from it at all costs!
Another product on the market that simply does nothing. I think its rubbing alcohol. Waste of time and money.

Kit 602661 Carnauba Paste Wax - 8 oz. Review

Goes on easy and comes off very easy, seems to last a long time and has a very good shine to it. I will buy this again
The best "sleeper " wax out there!! I have tried over 10-12 types of Waxes over 20 years and I always come back to KIT!! Now let me say that I'm talking the buttery smooth paste wax not the liquid.

It's EZ to put on and EZ to take off.

If your car surface is cool and in the garage/full shade you could do the whole car before starting to remove it!!!

(try half the car at a time till you see what I mean)

TRY THAT WITH SOME OF THE OTHER WAXES!!

It's beads/shines for a long time (not 1 year like it says but what wax does??)

Also I find that if it's so EZ to apply and take off you will wax more often and will find it not "a chore" anymore.

I waxed my truck 10 times last year.

Now I'm sure some will say their wax is the "best in show" but I'm talking about real people that wax there everyday car/trucks, not show cars. Even though it has a great deep shine that lasts and lasts.....

Also I'm applying by hand and taking off by hand not a professional buffer.
